Christ Reigns (Theme Recording)

Yesterday and today have been filled with the recording of the vocals. Things have been going great.

Below is a little peek into what it looks like to record in the studio…with the help of lots of friends.

In other studio news I might of had a good idea today and I did a good job in getting more ice cream.

Day 4: Vocals

As I write this Joia in recording vocals.

Here is what the first few days looked like as the guys got most of the music tracks done. (more video later today of Joia singing)

Executive Producer

If you ever wonder what an executive producer does: it is the guy who gets strawberry milkshakes so the studio guitarist isn’t grumpy! (Video update coming tomorrow morning)

Day 2 – Drums, Guitars & Dogs, oh my!

Hello all you people reading this blog…maybe just the 3 that are :)

Well, it is finally here…the week in which we, as musicians, enter a quiet and dark room for a week straight, hoping that music is made, magic happens and all ideas go noticed.  Currently, I am sitting in said dark, quiet room (hereforth named “studio”) with a dog at my feet (named Chewy), lava lamps galore (one is an actual Yellow Submarine edition), and a stuffed aardvark staring at me incessantly.

With Captain Dan Bozek at the helm of this project, we began the journey of a lifetime….if you knew Dan, you’d know why :)  (smooches Dan!!)  Yesterday, we successfully tracked drums and it sounds awesome.  Pete Wilson, the radiant drummer who bears a striking resemblance to Ben Affleck AND who spent a summer as the drummer for Warrant.  (think “Cherry Pie”)  Last night was a late night trip to Pittsburgh to get both my iPhone and Macbook to like me again.  The trip was successful and Indian food was then had by all.

Today, we hit it hard with guitars and the musical prowess of Mr. Mike Ofca.  All things are going well and I am prepared to list the songs…just to get your imagination.

Track List:

Amazing (also called Amazing Crazy Cryin’ Crazy in loving memory of a SNL skit about Aerosmith)

Christ Reigns (2009 National Catholic Youth Conference theme song)

Love Me

Your Love

Lullaby (a soothing song for my kids…and all kids, really)

Hazy Shade of Winter (yes, the rendition made famous by The Bangles but written by Simon & Garfunkel)

Hope you are as excited as we are!  Stay tuned for more updates, photos and videos!!
